Marilyn Blum

Welcome to Sacred Heart School. I am Principal Marilyn Blum and I welcome you to our school and to our community of faith. Sacred Heart School is a family focused in four areas of student development; faith, knowledge, values and service.

Student faith is encouraged through many activities including: daily morning prayer to start the day as a faith community, the weekly school masses prepared by a class and their teacher, prayer corners and religious bulletin boards in every classroom and in all academic classes, but especially religion class. Our faith is with us in all that we do throughout the school day.

Student academic success is accomplished through implementation of our recognized Catholic Schools of Sioux City curriculum. All academic areas include focus on the importance of technology as a tool in all areas of education and communication. Continual staff development, assessment, communication and accountability of curriculum ensures long term success at Sacred Heart for all students.

Christian values permeate our school from our methods of discipline to student accountability. Our yearly gospel value theme "Recognizing our God-given gifts" and the responsibility to use them in service to others acts as a guidepost for our daily activities as we continue to model Jesus in all school activities asking the question, "What would Jesus do?

Service to our community is an important foundation of Catholic education in Siouxland. Our students are instilled with a daily readiness to respond to the call of distress or discomfort of anyone in need of assistance within the school family, the community, the state, the nation or the world. This proactive concern for those in need is truly in Christ's image.

Thank you for choosing to visit our school. If you would like to visit in person please call or stop by and I will gladly visit with you.
